Christmas anxiety

Media has a way to make things feel normal even if you do not fit the paradigm.  At this time of year, you watch the hallmark shows where lonely people find true love.  They are all slim and have white teeth.  Radio stations are filled with tunes that portray a happy, white season with gifts and families getting together to celebrate in peace, love, and harmony.

The above scenario can be a reality for some.  For many of my clients, it is just the opposite. There is shame and guilt and resentment about purchasing things that they can not afford, for people who they don’t like only to get a snarly remark once the gift is received.  The holiday season is very stressful but does not have to be.

I teach tapping.  This is something anybody can do for themselves to lower their anxiety. I also teach deep breathing since when breathing with intention you let go of thoughts and therefore let go of anxiety.  I also tell my clients that anxiety can be relieved but it is a process.  It is one belief at a time.  In hypnotherapy, it does not have to take years.  Changes are deep and profound. Generally in the first session, lots of stuff is corrected. By the 5th session we are already building things back up.  To make this more clear I often use the example of an angry person who releases the anger.  They feel better but being nice is now very uncomfortable since they do not know how to be nice, act nice or being appropriate.

This December I have offered lots of free tapping and hypnosis sessions to help you get through it.  If you are having financial troubles or just feel depressed, call me.  Sometimes in 5 minutes or less you can feel relief.  Wishing you all a happy holiday.

“The loneliest moment in someone’s life is when they are watching their whole world fall apart, and all they can do is stare blankly.”
― F. Scott Fitzgerald
